Simple Fingerless Mitts is a great beginner knitting project. An easy to remember stich pattern, quick and best of all reversible! Lets get started....


Simple Fingerless Mitts Written Pattern


Skill Level: Easy


Yarn: Any #3/DK weight, 100% acrylic yarn, 10g, 45yds (41m)


Needle Size: US7 (4.5mm) straight


Notions: Tapestry Needle


Finished Measurement: 4" (10cm) long x 5¾“ (14.6cm) around unstretched


Gauge in Pattern (before blocking): 25¾ stitches, 26 rows = 4" (10cm)


Key

  • cco - cable cast on

  • k – knit

  • p – purl

  • sts - stitches

  • RS - right side

  • WS – wrong side

  • k2togbo – knit 2 together bind off method


Pattern

•R1: k3, p1, *k4, p1; repeat from * to last 3sts, k3

•R2: *p2, k3; repeat from * to last 2 sts, p2


Instructions

1.CCO 37sts

2.Work in pattern until mitt measures 4“ (10cm) from cast on edge

3.Using the k2togbo method, bind off stitches on the RS

4.Whipstich wrong sides together, leaving gap for thumb

5.Weave in ends

6.Repeat (1) through (5) for second mitt
